Press Kit

Kingpin is a social mobile game, built on top of Foursquare's Open API. On its face, the game dynamics are similar to Foursquare with one very important game-changing catch; once you check in to a location, you're given the option to carry out "Attacks" on other FourSquare users. These options vary according to your status at that location; if you're a "Mayor" in FourSquare, you're a "Boss" in Kingpin, and can order contracts on other users, for instance.

Each time you check in, it carries the risk of getting targeted in an attack, but you're also given the option to attack. If an attack is carried out successfully, an alert is pushed to the "victim's" phone, alerting them that they've been "hit". Successful attacks earn you badges and increase your game rank; being "whacked" lowers your game rank and earns you negative badges.

Users can shout their statuses using Foursquare (and very soon push to twitter). Ultimately this serves to change Foursquare from an individual-focused game, to a very competitive social game, encouraging users to participate with other players.
